2 cups of your favorite fish fry mix (must contain cornmeal)
1/2 cup of flour
2 teaspoons of sugar
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
1 beaten egg
3/4 cup of milk
1 finely chopped jalapeno
1 finely chopped yellow onion (a small onion is perfect size needed)

This is the kind of fish fry batter I use. This exact size is enough for this recipe.
Mix all your ingredients together. It should all come together into a nice thick batter.
While your mixing your ingredients, allow your grease to be getting hot. You want enough grease in whatever your using to fry these puppies up that they are completely surmerged under the grease instead of only being half way surmerged and cooking one side at a time.
Once your grease is hot enough, use a cookie scoop to scoop out the batter and drop in grease. Obviously you can use your hands if you do not have a cookie scoop or simply would like a bigger size hushpuppy.
Cook until golden brown and enjoy ♡
