1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 lb of ground turkey OR ( you can use ground beef or Italian sausage)
1/2 cup of mini pepperoni’s OR regular ( I think I would prefer regular due to the mini’s are a little thicker for my liking)
15 oz of tomato sauce
1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon of minced garlic
salt/pepper to taste
1 1/2 cups of bow tie pasta
1 1/2 cups of Mozzarella cheese -shredded
1 small onion (optional)
1 3/4 cups of water
Heat up oil in an oven safe skillet on medium. Once the oil is hot enough, place your ground turkey, minced garlic, and onion(if you are adding it). Cook until brown and drain off any excess fat if you have any.
Stir in the tomato sauce, all the seasonings, pasta, pepperoni’s, and 1 3/4 cups of water. Bring to a boil, cover, and reduce heat to low. Should take the pasta 15-20 minutes to cook through. You will just have to gauge it.
Once the pasta is done stir in 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle the rest on top. If you want to melt the cheese and get a golden brown on top place it in the oven on broil for 2 minutes give or take.
